world. Fat, squat buds open to reveal large, rich buff pink blooms that are
large, full, globular, quartered and quilled. The centre petals are apricot and

climbing growth best on a wall or a pillar, bending down the shoots to promote
laterals and more blooms. The reddish canes have hooked prickles. Blooms from

Alba's. A popular rose for centuries,
growing into a large bush. Flowers are 8-10cm in diameter, opening flat with a
faint buff edge and a lovely fragrance. Pale grey-green foliage covers the
canes, which have a few large prickles. Flowers during summer, needs little
pruning and is disease resistant.

The flowers of this rose are creamy white
flushed with pink. They are double and long lasting on the medium-sized,
compact plant, which is hardier than most. Repeat flowering and scented.

Isaac Pereire Shrub
This famous rose has enjoyed almost
universal praise. The huge, deep rose pink blooms are full and well formed upon
opening, later becoming blowzy; a purple hint adds to the charm, especially in
autumn. The very fragrant flowers are sometimes cupped and sometimes quartered,
and they usually appear in clusters. A vigorous shrub and best trained, where
it can produce more laterals and blooms. Small prickles and deep green leaves.
Does well in poor soils and in cool shade.

A strong, branching and healthy shrub
bearing large trusses of creamy-pink flowers with great freedom; repeating
well. Small coral-pink hips. Fragrant. One of the best in its class.

Rose Rosa Mundi Shrub
(R.gallica versicolour). A sport from 'Officinalis'
and an equally good shrub but with crimson flowers striped white, not just
plain. A very showy plant, giving a wonderful effect in the garden. Will form a
very good low hedge.

'R.glauca'
Arching reddish purple, thornless shoots are well furnished
with broadly oval, heavily serrated, greyish purple leaves made up of 5 to 9
leaflets.. Borne in small clusters the flowers are 2.5cm across, single,
star-like in formation and soft lilac pink in colour with soft creamy yellow
stamens; they appear in early summer. Has good hips, red first then coppery
purple in autumn. Very popular for flower arranging.

Dense, cushion-forming, dwarf cluster
flowered bush rose with abundant, dark green foliage. Fragrant, pointed, fully
double flowers, 12cm across, are pale creamy-pink, tinted buff, and are borne
in summer-autumn.

Rose Yesterday Shrub
This rose has won many awards and is well
recommended for the garden; its semi-double flowers are borne in clusters that
make a beautiful spectacle when in full bloom. They are mid to violet pink and
the buds are a darker shade against the open flowers. The blooms last well when
cut. This medium sized shrub with thin and vigorous, disease resistant growth
forms an attractive round bush.

Rose Ballerina Shrub (Ground Cover)
One of summers treats is to see hundreds
of small single, shallow cupped light pink flowers cramming themselves all over
this bush. Hard to fault, with a first marathon blooming followed by a second
crop in the autumn. Graceful rounded habit and abundant mid green foliage. easy
to prune.

Rose Max
Graf Shrub (Ground Cover)
Very important as it is the ancestor of
most of the modern Ground Cover Roses and many shrub roses. Long, trailing prostrate
shoots with very attractive, disease resistant wrinkled foliage. The shapely
single flowers are soft rose-pink with golden stamens. It flowers only once in
the season. Excellent for covering banks and steep slopes. Very hardy.

Rose Nozomi Shrub
(Ground Cover)
Excellent ground cover, especially in a
rock garden. Habit is creeping, stem-rooting, mound forming or low-climbing.
Pale blush-pink to white flowers are single and appear in delicate clusters
just above the shiny dark-green, red tinted foliage.
